1. When I add a product to my shopping cart, and go to check-out, it has a 0 (zero) listed under quantity, and I cannot order the item. Why?

This is because the product is out of stock. Please check back online regularly for availability. We make every attempt to have every product on our site available for purchase.

2. I would like to place an order, and pay for it via check or money order. What do I do?

You can proceed as normal and add each item to your shopping cart. Simply continue through the checkout process. When you reach the billing address page (Payment), simply print the page (which has listed the items you desire, and the total amount plus shipping), fill it out with your name/address/phone number/email address and send it with your payment payable to:

Once we receive your payment, your order will be dispatched. Personal checks over US$20 may take up to 7 business days to clear before dispatch.

3. Do you ship to addresses outside the USA?

Yes! We ship to most countries. To calculate your shipping & handling (p&p) charges, add item(s) to your shopping cart (as normal), and when you check-out, indicate in the Ship To: section your country's information. You will be given the shipping & handling charges before confirming your order. There are some countries which we do not normally ship to. If your country is not listed, please email or fax your order, with payment information, to us.

Please note: IslamicBookstore.com cannot be held responsible for any import fees, customs fees, import taxes, or other types of charges which a recipient may incur, who is receiving products outside of the United States. This may be either through a private courier service or through your local postal system.

4. What is your return policy?

Within 5 days of receipt, we will accept for return any non-shrinkwrapped item. Must be returned in same condition as received. Shipping charges will only be refunded if the return is a result of our error.

5. What if I do not want to pay by credit card?

We understand many people do not like credit cards, for obvious reasons. For this reason, we have a "Pay by Check or Money Order" payment method in our shopping cart. Simply choose this method and submit your order. You will get a reply email confirming your order. Please print this page and send along with your check or money order (to the address listed above). Upon receipt of payment, your order will be dispatched to you.

6. What format are your video cassettes and DVDs in?

All of our videos are in NTSC format only. They are incompatible with some systems in use in Europe and Asia which use PAL or SECAM system, unless you have specifically a multi-system VCR. To check your country's television standard, click here for country-by-country standard chart. DVDs are in Region 1 Encoding (North America).

7. I purchased some of your lecture tapes, however some are defective/can't hear them/bad quality. What should I do?

Before sending us back anything, please email us (service @ IslamicBookstore.com) and let us know. Usually, we'll refund or mail you replacements. No hassles!

8. I reside outside of the U.S. and would like to pay for my order through bank (wire) transfer. What are your bank details?

Please add US$15 to any wire transfer you send us. Our bank charges us this amount to receive any incoming wire transfer. $15 should be added to your TOTAL amount due.

If paying by international bank money transfer, please contact us for our bank account information.

9. How safe is it for me to send my credit card details to you via the Internet

IslamicBookstore.com employs Yahoo!, the worldwide leading Internet portal and directory group to handle our e-commerce security. Using only the most state-of-the-art Net security systems, they capably handle our private communications. Insha'Allah, your credit card details will be safely transmitted and will not be viewed by any third party. You can also fax your credit card information to us at +1 410-675-0085 (fax number).

10. I live in (insert your country here). Are your books available here?

Probably not. We offer books (and other items) published and produced from around the world. Some of our books may be available in your local country, but most probably are not. We have affordable shipping options for final destinations outside of the United States. Our only retail establishment (at this time) is in Maryland, USA. (45 minutes from Washington, DC)

11. I require technical support for a software product I purchased from IslamicBookstore.com. What do I do?

For tech support on specific products, please refer to our Software Publisher page. IslamicBookstore.com does not (normally) provide software technical support for software packages it resells.

12. Are there any countries which you do not normally ship to?

Currently, we are unable to ship online orders to the following countries: Belarus, Indonesia, Liberia, Pakistan, Nigeria, and Romania. If you would like us to ship to any of these countries, please fax us your order with all details. We will reply back insha'Allah within 1 business day with pertinent information.

13. My package will be delivered outside the USA. Do I need to pay customs and duties?

All items entering a foreign country are subject to customs inspection and the assessment of duties and taxes in accordance with that country's national laws. Customs duties and taxes are assessed, generally, if the merchandise is dutiable and the value of the item is above the threshold set by the country's laws. If duties and taxes are assessed on an item mailed via the Postal Service, they are collected from the recipient. In addition, for most countries, there is an administrative fee that is collected from the recipient to cover the costs of clearing the item through customs and collecting duties and taxes. For instance, the administrative fee in the United Kingdom is 6.50 British pounds for airmail parcels and 11.25 British pounds for Global Express Mail; in 23 countries in Europe (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Monaco, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, San Marion, Vatican City, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Adorra, Gilbratar, Sweden, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein) the administrative fee is 17 Euros for Global Express Mail and Global Airmail Parcel Post; and the administrative fee in Canada is $5 Canadian for Global Airmail Parcel Post. Business mailers have the option to pay the duties, taxes or fees to certain countries through an International Customized Mail Agreement.

If you want to learn what the threshold for duties and taxes is for a particular country, you can go to www.wcoomd.org for general information or visit the Web site of that country's customs service.
