Allah, the Exalted, has commanded the Muslims to invocate blessings on His Messenger who is the chief of both the worlds and the pride of the Messengers. To invoke blessing on him much and frequently is a sign of love for him and this, indeed, is the objective of invoking blessing on him. (This exercise is called salah in Arabic and duruad in Urdu). Some religious elders have found durud extremely effective remedy for worldly anxieties. These tried and effective durud have been collected and compiled.
Like other means of remedy, durud too may be adopted as means of remedy and practiced. To have treatment for one’s aliments is the Prophet’s sunnah, so one must abide by the sunnah. However, this can only be successful one discharged the fard, honesty and regularly, and refrains from whatever is forbidden. The sunnah and etiquettes must be observed. Moreover, one’s belief and conviction must be strong and unwavering. If anyone is hesitant and has doubts then he cannot derive advantage from the durud or the innovations and the prescribed rota of supplication.
May Allah enable us to invoke blessing on the Prophet very many times and frequently. Amen.
