Audio stories, or stories told out-loud, are not restricted to images on a screen. The only limit is a child’s own creativity, as he or she is free and able to self-paint pictures out of their own imagination.
This set, A Year with the Prophet (sws), has been custom designed for the young, American/Canadian/western raised English-speaking Muslim child for maximum benefit. Ustadh Tasleem's familiarity with the challenges of young Muslim children, along with his experience in storytelling for kids, couples with the wholesome and character-building content, make it an enjoyable way to impart both beneficial learning & intrigue and critical-thinking and comprehension on the part of listeners.
We choose not to inundate our stories with excessive sound effects because we want to encourage our young listeners to focus on the words, creating a love and interest for the story (rather than a love for the music or sound). Educators agree that this skill improves listening, comprehension, and cognitive development in young minds. In an age of constant entertainment by television, flashy apps, and video games, we want our young listeners to develop deeper cognitive skills which will help them become better readers and listeners.
As your child listens to stories, they’re given the unique experience of actively imagining the worlds they’re hearing about, rather than having the characters and scenery presented to them with illustrations in a book or TV show. Their brains can paint the characters and actions in ways that encourage a child’s own creativity and imagination. This is a memorable experience which can fuel their lifelong interest in books.
A Year with the Prophet (sws) hopes to instill a love for Prophet Muhammad’s amazing life journey in the hearts and minds of our young generation.
We stand behind the quality and value of this audio series. If at any time you wish to cancel the series, you will be refunded for any remaining episodes.
